FEELING LIKE YOU ARE GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES? LET US HELP!

If you find yourself saying...
  • Now what do I do?
  • I need help.
  • I don't know who can help me!
  • How can I get this resolved?

...the TLMA Ombudsman can help!

WHAT IS AN OMBUDSMAN?

In TLMA, the Ombudsman is responsible for providing our customers with extra assistance in meeting the many and varied requirements of the development process. Depending on the nature of the situation, the Ombudsman offers advice, guidance, interpretation and works to bring about issue resolution to those individuals working through the development process.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

The Ombudsman WILL...
  • Listen to you.
  • Find answers to your questions.
  • Analyze your situation.
  • Explain Riverside County Ordinance requirements.
  • Assist in developing options.
  • Refer you to the right person and arrange a meeting with them.
  • Follow up to make sure your concerns have been addressed.

WHEN SHOULD I CONTACT THE OMBUDSMAN'S OFFICE?

Are you new to the Development process? If you have not worked with Riverside County's Development team before and don't know where to start, call our office. The Ombudsman can lead you to the right persons and Departments.

Have you encountered a problem during the Development process? If you have, first discuss it with the persons or office involved. Many times they will explain a specific policy or ordinance or correct the problem on the spot. In fact, agency staff can solve most problems quicker and easier than the Ombudsman.

If you have already made a reasonable effort with the agency or department to resolve your problem and have still not been successful, contact the Ombudsman.

WHAT WILL THE OMBUDSMAN DO WITH MY CONCERN?

If your concern is appropriate for investigation, the Ombudsman will contact the agency representative; research relevant ordinances, policies and procedures; and determine possible alternatives to resolve your issue.

WHY USE THE OMBUDSMAN?

The Ombudsman will guide you to some form of resolution. Although we cannot always promise the outcome you were hoping for, we can guarantee that we will listen, be fair, and respond to your needs.
