Notice to building permit applicants for residential, commercial, and industrial developments in the Coachella Valley Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan Area
On January 29, 2008 the Riverside County Board of Supervisors adopted Riverside County Ordinance 875. The ordinance establishes a development impact mitigation fee for funding the preservation of natural ecosystems in accordance with the Coachella Valley Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (CVMSHCP). As an applicant of a building permit within the CVMSHCP area, you should be aware that your project may be affected by this ordinance.
For your reference, the mitigation fee schedule is shown below:
Residential density less that 8.0 dwellings per acre - $1,284.00 / dwelling unit
Residential density between 8.1 and 14.0 dwellings per acre - $533.00 / dwelling unit
Residential density greater than 14.1 dwelling units per acre - $235.00 / dwelling unit
Commercial and Industrial - $5,730.00 / acre
Riverside County Ordinance 875 becomes effective March 29, 2008 OR immediately upon issuance of the appropriate permits authorizing “take” in connection with the CVMSHCP by the appropriate Federal and State authorities—whichever occurs last. Riverside County Department of Building & Safety cannot predict which event will occur last, so please be advised that any residential, commercial, or industrial building permits issued after Friday March 28, 2008 may immediately be subject to the above fees.
