STREET NAME CHANGE POLICY

When a request for a street name change is received by the County of Riverside, the requesting party shall petition all property owners abutting that street to evaluate if a street name should be changed. If a majority of the property owners concur with the request for a street name change, please submit the Application For Street Name Change and Petition for Street Name Change. The applicant will submit six different street names for consideration. When selecting the proposed name, please note the chart below which pertains to width and classification of road easements.

The fee for a street name change is $308.00 + $77.00 for each additional street name plus a 1.5% surcharge. All fees are non-refundable, and are payable by check or money order. The fee must be received with the application to initiate processing. When a street name has been tentatively accepted, the County will petition all adjoining property owners for approval of the new street name. The final determination of the street name will be made by the Board of Supervisors at a public hearing.
