Welcome to the Riverside County Transportation Department!

Our Department is responsible for planning, designing, funding, building, operating and maintaining all roads, bridges, and transportation facilities within the unincorporated County territory.

The County covers an area of approximately 7300 square miles, which is about the size of the state of New Jersey.  Our County-Maintained Road System exceeds 2700 miles, which is about the distance between Riverside County and Washington D.C.  This puts in context the challenges that the Department faces in providing service to over 2 million residents (and growing!) in Riverside County. We focus on our priorities of improving safety, maintaining our existing roads and bridges, and enhancing our roadway capacity to keep up with our population growth.

We hope that you find this Website helpful in contacting us and receiving information on the many services that the Transportation Department provides.  Our goal is to provide excellent services to you, our customers, and to actively participate with the entire County family in improving the quality of life of our residents and visitors.
