The Riverside County Department of Building and Safety is dedicated to providing the citizens of Riverside County with courteous, efficient and cost effective services with the goal of improving the quality of life and orderly economic development by the provision and management of grading, building inspection and code enforcement within the integrated Transportation and Land Management Agency activities.

BUILDING CODES

State law requires that all cities and counties in California enforce the building codes as mandated by the California Building Standards Commission. The County of Riverside has adopted by ordinance the following model codes as modified by the State of California:

  •    • California Residential Code, 2010 edition
  •    • California Mechanical Code, 2010 edition
  •    • California Plumbing Code, 2010 edition
  •    • California Electrical Code, 2010 edition
  •    • California Green Code, 2010 edition
